Ever since it took office in 2019, the current govern - ment of El Salvador has been strengthening legislation related to current issues in advertising and market - ing in order to satisfy the needs of consumers, inves - tors and the general public. The government has introduced many reforms and new laws to promote investment and help El Salvador be at the forefront of technology, thus modernising the country. The world has been experiencing constant change, and El Salvador cannot be left behind; it must be at the forefront of offering new products, services and modern alternatives in order to be an attractive country in terms of tourism, investment and housing, among other sectors. All of the changes and new tools that have revolutionised the world have also helped Salvadorans. However, the changes have also given rise to a need to protect people’s rights, and it is clear that the world is currently a very demanding one. There has been a revolution to protect the rights of humans, including women and children, and although this has always been an issue worldwide, influencing all laws, a particular need to provide much greater protection in El Salvador, as well as in the Central American region and the Caribbean, has emerged. Due to all the changes that humanity is facing, and the fact that today’s world can be viewed as a more sensitive one, there have been many cases of viola - tions of children’s rights, women’s rights and human rights in general.

It is very difficult to make changes overnight in a coun - try that has long been conservative, and especially in one in which the Catholic religion predominates – such as El Salvador. As mentioned before, with the constant evolution of the world and the emergence of new generations, the firm perceives that there is a need for greater awareness of broad trends; what was previously presumed to be morally correct is no longer necessarily viewed as such, and the rights of many people – particularly women and LGBTQ+ individuals – are being violated. In some cases, constant abuse of such groups is seemingly allowed. Recently, El Salvador has moved towards being more inclusive and alert to what is happening elsewhere, maintaining respect for others and being clear that the individual’s rights end where the rights of oth - ers begin. El Salvador has become known around the world in this regard through publicity – a form of advertising – associated with the country’s President. Because El Salvador has been improving over the last few years with respect to inclusivity, it now offers a good investment climate, and its security has been publicised across the world. A climate of security is key for generating investment in the country. Advertising offers a means to attract investment, trade and labour, and above all to ensure that the world real- ises that El Salvador is a country with rich resources in terms of its people, environment and legal security. Advertising directed towards these areas can help ensure that people worldwide will fall in love with El Salvador, just as the native population has.
