His practice also covers regulatory compliance across the MiFID, UCITS and AIFMD frameworks (including the Portuguese RGA/ RRGA), and assisting clients in implementing internal policies aligned with EU and national requirements. Bernardo is the author or co-author of several articles on collective investment undertakings and fund regulation.

João Nóbrega is managing partner of EY Law – Sociedade de Advogados, SP, S.A., with over 20 years’ experience in AIF. His practice covers structuring, formation and supervision of real estate and private equity AIFs,
and the licensing and governance of management companies in Portugal and Angola. He also advises on fund-level mergers and demergers and on regulatory matters at the AIFMD/RGA/RRGA interface. João assists international sponsors with establishing Portuguese platforms via regulated vehicles and with designing complementary cross- border structures. João has taught on postgraduate programmes at universities in Portugal and has been recognised in legal directories; he is a frequent speaker and co-author on investment vehicles and real estate.
Francisco Miguel Gomes is a senior associate at EY Law – Sociedade de Advogados, SP, S.A., part of the EY Law network. He is part of the AIF team, advising on the structuring and regulatory supervision of collective
investment undertakings in Portugal, with a focus on real estate and private equity AIFs. He frequently assists AIF management companies with the design and implementation of governance and compliance policies and procedures and with regulatory engagement before the CMVM.
