Authors
Gareth Hughes is a partner and heads the Asia litigation team at Debevoise & Plimpton. His practice focuses on major commercial litigation, international arbitration and white-collar/regulatory defence matters. With over 25 years’ experience in Asia, Gareth advises major corporates, financial institutions and high net worth individuals in complex commercial disputes, often with a cross- border component to them. He also frequently advises on internal and regulatory investigations, particularly those involving the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Independent Commission Against Corruption. His work has encompassed financial services, corporate finance, private wealth, fraud, private equity, insurance, judicial review and shareholder-related matters.
Philip Rohlik is a member of Debevoise & Plimpton’s litigation group whose practice focuses on international investigations, securities law and dispute resolution. Philip’s varied practice has included
representation of US and multinational companies in complex litigation and investigations, as well as in cybersecurity and data privacy issues, with a particular focus on Asia. He leads the firm’s dispute resolution team in Shanghai. He has represented clients from the financial services, pharmaceutical/ healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, insurance and entertainment sectors in connection with white-collar litigation, regulatory investigations, responses to cybersecurity incidents, domestic and international arbitration and domestic litigation. Tiffany Wu is a litigation associate and a member of Debevoise & Plimpton’s international dispute resolution group. Tiffany has acted on behalf of a wide range of clients including financial institutions, private equity funds and major international corporations on matters including contentious regulatory enforcements, white-collar crime investigations, anti-corruption and compliance, insurance disputes and commercial litigation.
Emily Lam is a counsel at Debevoise & Plimpton in Hong Kong and a member of the litigation department. She has vast experience in a broad range of commercial litigation and contentious regulatory matters. Emily
has acted on behalf of a wide range of clients including financial institutions, state-owned PRC companies, major international corporations, listed companies and high net worth individuals on matters, including cross border contractual disputes and regulatory investigations.
