that this will foster the ratification and implementation of the Aircraft Protocol in Germany in the near future. On the European level, the most recent piece of leg - islation that will likely impact the airline industry is the draft ReFuelEU Regulation (COM/2021/561 final) on which the Council and the European Parliament reached a provisional political agreement on 25 April 2023. The draft ReFuelEU Regulation forms part of the EU’s “Fit for 55” programme and aims at the decar - bonisation of air traffic. Sanctions continue to change quite frequently these days and even more recently tariffs need to be observed very closely in transactions involving aircraft and their financing given the relevant regimes keep changing frequently in light of global trade tensions.
