Authors
Farid Sigari-Majd is a partner at Freshfields and heads the aviation desk in Vienna. He specialises in corporate M&A and restructuring, with a focus on aviation, financial institutions and general industries. Over the last decade, Farid has advised clients on some of the most prominent airline deals and restructurings in the region. He has broad experience in multi-jurisdictional transactions in emerging markets, with a particularly strong footprint in Turkey and the Middle East. He holds a JD and an LLM degree from the University of Vienna. Farid joined the firm’s Vienna office in 2005 and speaks Farsi, German and English.
Mathias Lehner is a specialist banking and finance lawyer at Freshfields with a focus on asset finance, acquisition finance and restructuring. He has long-standing experience advising both international
and domestic clients across a broad range of financing transactions. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Mathias specialises in aircraft financing and leasing transactions and is also a keen aviator himself (PPL). He holds LLM degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Vienna, and a Diploma in Law from the University of Kent. He joined the firm in 2012 and speaks English, German and French.
