Rita Samoreno Gomes is a partner and co-head of the dispute resolution practice of PLMJ, specialising in corporate and financial litigation. She has 20 years’ experience, focusing primarily on advising clients, mainly
banks, in legal actions relating to financial instruments issued or sold through financial intermediation, civil liability of directors and corporate disputes. Rita has worked on cases of great significance and complexity, representing leading Portuguese and international banks. She has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
Maria Berta Jerónimo is an associate in the dispute resolution practice of PLMJ, where she specialises in banking and financial litigation and litigation in competition matters. She advises Portuguese and international
Petra Carreira is a managing associate in the dispute resolution practice of PLMJ. With over 14 years’ experience, she specialises in corporate and commercial litigation, banking and finance and private
clients from the banking and financial sector on disputes relating to the issuance and sale of financial instruments, civil liability of directors and banking secrecy. She also advises public bodies on disputes arising from the issuance of debt and savings products. In the area of competition law, she is actively involved in major private enforcement actions in Portugal. Maria has a law degree from the Nova School of Law and a master’s in litigation and arbitration from the same faculty.
