Mirko Masek is counsel in Freshfields’ global transactions group. His practice focuses on energy transition transactions. In this context,

advises clients on the legal regime for low-carbon and renewable fuels, the regulatory regime for hydrogen infrastructure and on all legal aspects relevant for the transformation of energy supply from fossil-based to zero-carbon. He represents companies in front of the regulatory authorities, in complaint proceedings against regulatory decisions and in appeal proceedings before the German Federal Court of Justice. He also advises energy companies in civil law disputes, including representation before ordinary courts and in arbitration. Stefan also has broad experience in relation to energy contractual and energy trading matters.

reorganisations, corporate law and general contract and commercial law. Mirko is also a member of the firm’s energy, resources and infrastructure sector group and works closely with clients from the renewable energy sector as well as in connection with the energy transition and decarbonisation of industry (eg, on green hydrogen projects). Mirko assists clients in connection with project-related contracts (eg, EPC or turbine supply contracts). He also supports clients in project-financing settings.
