Asensi Abogados is a boutique law firm specialised in the gaming and gambling sector that represents and advises international gaming companies with in- terests located across the Spanish and Latin Ameri- can markets. Its team assists large online betting and casino operators, software providers, skill games operators, affiliates and payment solution provid- ers, as well as land-based operators, slot-machine manufacturers and suppliers. Through winning the public tender convened by Coljuegos, the Colombian
gaming regulator, Asensi Abogados became the of- ficial adviser for the development of the first online regulation within Latin America. It has offices in Ma- drid, Mallorca and Bogotá, and is part of the Spanish Digital Association. Relevant recent work by Asensi Abogados includes licensing procedures (online and land-based), detailed advice on the practical applica- tion of the new regulatory developments for online operators in Spain, and legal assistance in the reloca- tion of international operators to Ceuta and Melilla.

Juan Camilo Carrasco joined Asensi Abogados in 2015 when the
Colombian office opened in Bogotá. As local managing partner of the firm in Colombia, he has been the head of the gaming and corporate law practices for clients in the region. In addition to his law degree, Juan Camilo studied international business law at Harvard Law School and Centro de Estudios Garrigues. He is a regular speaker at local and international conferences promoting the development of the gaming industry in Latin America, and has contributed several articles to specialised industry publications. Juan Camilo is a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors and the International Masters of Gaming Law.
