Conclusion Two forces are pulling in opposite directions, and the next period will be shaped by how they resolve. The first is commercial pressure. Users of arbitration have complained about cost and duration for dec - ades, and AI is the most credible answer yet: faster analysis, better case management, shorter timetables. Institutions that resist will lose work to those that do not. The second is legitimacy. The authority of arbitra - tion rests on the parties’ belief that the person they selected genuinely weighed their case. Anything that erodes that belief is not a technical problem but an existential one. That is why ARIHQ resonated so far beyond Canada. For businesses arbitrating in or through Slovenia, the practical stakes are immediate rather than theoretical. Slovenian courts have not yet ruled on an AI-related setting-aside application, but ZArbit already provides a basis on the three grounds identified above – ina - bility to present one’s case, irregular constitution of

the tribunal and public policy. Companies choosing the Ljubljana Arbitration Centre, or a Slovenian seat under any institutional rules, should treat this not as a distant regulatory trend but as a drafting and case- management issue to resolve in advance, at the point where clauses are negotiated and procedural orders are agreed. The likely settlement is the one visible in the institu - tional guidance since 2024: AI throughout the sup - porting work, human judgement preserved at the point of decision and increasing transparency as to where the line falls in any given case. Whether it holds will depend less on rules than on whether arbitrators, counsel and institutions take verification seriously. The technology will keep moving but the underlying principle will not: parties are entitled to a decision taken by the person they appointed, on the record they built and according to law that actually exists.
