In line with this increased focus on monitoring, the FCA issued an important sanction decision for fail - ing to comply with merger remedies. In Decision No 25 D 05 of 3 November 2025 ( Parfait / Géant Casino La Batelière ), it imposed a fine of EUR7.6 million on the Parfait group for multiple breaches of a divesti - ture package accepted in 2022 in connection with its acquisition of the La Batelière hypermarket and related assets in Martinique. The Authority found in particular that Parfait had significantly delayed the sale, that it failed to preserve the value and attractive - ness of the business and, thereby, prolonged a highly concentrated local market structure in breach of its commitments. The fine amount is significant relative to the value of the assets acquired, and this decision is another clear message that the FCA intends to be more active and more severe on the enforcement of merger remedies.
