BELGIUM Trends and Developments

Trends and Developments Contributed by: An Weyn and Aurore Sultus Arteo

Arteo is a Brussels-based law firm founded in 2020 by the members of the tax department of full-service law firm Liedekerke. Arteo focuses on tax advice and litigation; wealth and estate planning; and Supreme Court procedures. The private client practice adopts a multidisciplinary approach, as family entrepreneurs and private clients in general often deal with a variety of related issues. Apart from needing tax advice, such clients may also need assistance in managing and

preserving family assets through controlling entities; family governance and succession planning; marital property law and inheritance law; and compliance (FATCA/CRS/UBO register). The strength of Arteo’s private client practice is that these multidisciplinary aspects can all be dealt with by the firm, and that each partner responsible is personally very involved in the matter.
