Mori Hamada has a real estate practice that extends from traditional acquisition and leasing transactions to complex fund structures involving a special-pur - pose vehicle or a trust, as well as investment struc - tures for overseas properties. The team’s work in this practice primarily involves private fund formations for domestic and overseas properties, J-REITs, real estate acquisitions, developments and dispositions and real estate financings. Recent highlights include
advising KKR on its acquisition of Sapporo Real Es - tate (SRE) from Sapporo Holdings. Funds managed by KKR and PAG acquire 100% of SRE’s shares. SRE owns, operates and develops a diverse portfolio of commercial, office, hotel and residential assets in To - kyo and Hokkaido, including Yebisu Garden Place. The firm also advised Japanese banks on a USD911 million financing for 425 Park Avenue.

Satoru Hasumoto is a partner at Mori Hamada who handles all aspects of real estate, including the development and operation of hotels, data centres and logistics facilities. He focuses on inbound and outbound real estate and construction projects. Takahiro Sato is a partner at Mori Hamada, who has recently been involved in the development of logistics facilities, office restacking projects and the formation of an open-end core real estate fund.
