E. Scott Swainson is a director and departmental head of property at Wakefield Quin Limited. He regularly advises on sophisticated commercial and residential property transactions, and provides property-related advice
disposal and development of commercial, mixed use and residential property; leasehold matters; and real estate finance matters. Andrew has acted for a wide variety of clients including national housebuilders, registered social landlords/charities, institutional lenders, private companies and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Wakefield Quin, Andrew was an Associate Director in the property department of a leading regional law firm in South Wales, United Kingdom.

He is internationally recognised as one of Bermuda’s leading property lawyers and has approximately 30 years of post- qualification experience. Scott graduated from Queen’s University, Canada with a Bachelor of Arts in History and earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kent, England.
Erik Gotfredsen is a director and CEO of Wakefield Quin Limited, and has been internationally recognised by Chambers as one of Bermuda’s leading corporate lawyers. He joined the firm in 2014, having previously
worked in the corporate department of Conyers Dill & Pearman Limited in Bermuda, as well as practising in Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada. Erik kindly provided oversight services on the corporate, banking and corporate insolvency aspects referenced in this guide.
Andrew Morgan is a senior counsel in the property department at at Wakefield Quin Limited, having joined the firm in April 2025. His practice includes all aspects of commercial and residential real estate and real
estate finance. He has extensive experience advising on transactions involving the acquisition,
