Bonso Morimoto has been a partner at Nishimura & Asahi since 2025. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions (Japanese domestic and cross-border transactions), start-ups and venture capital practices, as well as other
border transactions, tax, corporate governance, and intellectual property and media matters. A graduate of the University of Tokyo (LLB) in 1991 and Harvard Law School (LLM) in 2000, he was admitted to the Bar in Japan (1993) and New York (2001). He served as a professor at the University of Tokyo Graduate Schools for Law and Politics from 2013 to 2016. He has also written several books.
