Regarding statutory damages related to infringement on the internet, the Act states that statutory damages will not apply where a work that was previously made available to the public, is made available to the public on the internet, but not by the owner, provided that: • the infringer ceases the infringement within a rea - sonable time after receiving notice from the owner; • the work was not copied from a catalogue making the work available to the public for sale or licensing purposes; and • the infringement was not for a commercial pur - pose .
