Hergüner Bilgen Üçer Attorney Partnership has re- crafted the Turkish law firm model along modern cor - porate standards for more than three decades while maintaining the personal level of attention that its clients have come to expect. Its size and expertise make Hergüner one of the few truly full-service inde - pendent Turkish law firms with global reach, equally at home in the role of primary counsel in multinational transactions and as local counsel to foreign and do - mestic clients. The legal team of approximately 80
members, 16 of whom are partners, has a variety of educational and professional backgrounds, handling cases that require a full grasp of Turkish and cross- border jurisdictions, as well as different cultures and languages. The firm’s lawyers have considerable ex - perience in all areas of M&A, including due diligence, negotiating and drafting contracts, representing cli - ents during interim and closing phases, and provid - ing post-closing advice for clients across a multitude of sectors. Deniz Tuncel is a partner in Hergüner’s M&A and energy practice groups, and advises on joint ventures and acquisitions, particularly in the energy, renewables, and oil and gas sectors. He has particular experience working on intergovernmental agreements and host government agreements used in cross-border energy and infrastructure projects, having advised on the permitting and international law aspects of strategic regional pipelines. Deniz graduated from Istanbul University and received his LLM degrees from İstanbul Bilgi University and Harvard Law School. He is on the board of directors of the Turkish Association of Energy Economics and AVERE Türkiye Electro Mobility Association, a recent initiative advocating the use of electric vehicles in transportation.
