Nick is Chambers- ranked and is also part of the Band 1-ranked litigation practice in the firm’s Washington, DC office. His diverse practice includes complex litigation over large “deals gone wrong” across many industries – including winning major jury verdicts and appeals – as well as handling complex commercial deals. He has particularly deep experience in the energy sector, and was formerly in-house at some of the country’s largest publicly traded mining and energy companies.
He represents many kinds of clients, including government agencies, internet service providers, non-profits, real estate developers, technology start-ups, banks, private equity funds, high net worth family offices, and natural resource companies. Jonathan also serves as outside general counsel to the West Virginia Investment Management Board, which oversees the investment of West Virginia’s pension funds and other long-term monies. He has been recognised by Chambers USA since 2019, with one client stating that “Jonathan is the best I have ever worked with.”
