Sam Kember is a senior associate at Russell McVeagh specialising in public and private M&A, joint ventures, equity capital markets
transactions and overseas investment (foreign direct investment). Sam has extensive experience advising large New Zealand and international clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions. Sam is one of New Zealand’s leading experts on New Zealand’s foreign direct investment regime. He regularly provides advice to offshore clients on navigating the regime and obtaining consent, and has also been extensively involved in recent legislative reform. Sam returned to Russell McVeagh in 2023 after four years working in London for Linklaters LLP.
Tom Gillespie is a partner in Russell McVeagh’s Corporate Advisory group. Tom has extensive experience in practice in both New Zealand and Singapore, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private
equity transactions, joint ventures and venture capital transactions. Tom regularly leads major matters and has been involved in some of the highest-profile transactions in the New Zealand market and cross-border transactions.
