Brock Dahl is a partner who focuses on guiding clients through national security, cybersecurity, advanced technology development, data privacy and strategy and regulatory issues. Brock brings cutting-edge technology, cyber and data experience to the firm after spending several years with the National Security Agency (NSA). He has a deep understanding of advanced technologies and how to manage the legal and practical challenges that they raise and has been at the forefront of the government’s response to many of the most significant global cyber incidents in recent years. Brock speaks regularly regarding national security and cybersecurity topics. group. Beth focuses on the representation of companies navigating the toughest situations, including cybersecurity breaches and internal investigations. With a background in national security and technology, Beth advises boards of private and public companies on risk management and governance, including advising on governance related to artificial intelligence (AI), data practices, cybersecurity, content management, and geopolitical events. She conducts internal investigations into the company’s products, including generative AI products, and works with engineers to understand and mitigate legal and regulatory risks. Beth George co-leads the global strategic risk management practice and is co-head of the US litigation, arbitration and global investigations
Timothy Howard is a partner who focuses on data privacy, security and artificial intelligence advisory issues, data incident crisis management, including regulatory response and the intersection of white collar and data
issues. Timothy joined Freshfields from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where he served as chief of the complex frauds and cybercrime unit and as a member of the DOJ National Ransomware Taskforce. He was also detailed to the National Security Division, where he coordinated the national program of investigations into nation-state sponsored cyberattacks across all US Attorney’s Offices.
Megan Kayo is a partner who specialises in cybersecurity and privacy issues. She has worked on hundreds of data breach incidents, including investigations and interactions with regulators and
affected consumers. She also represents clients in regulatory investigations of information security programs. Megan helps clients with security governance, including risk assessment and management, breach mitigation, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, oversight of third- party service providers, due diligence in corporate transactions and board of directors’ advice and counselling. She helps her clients develop strategies to collect, use, share and sell data in compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
