Rafael Rivera is the managing partner at BDO Panama and leads the firm’s legal and tax division. With extensive experience in tax consulting, planning and litigation, he advises on complex mergers and acquisitions, including cross-border transactions under Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements. Rafael holds a Master’s in International Taxation from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands, and a Law degree from the University of Panama. He is a published author in international tax journals and a recognised voice in the region’s tax landscape. His leadership continues to drive BDO Panama’s strategic growth and innovation in legal and tax advisory services.
Malvis Mina is the director of legal services at BDO Panama, specialising in corporate, administrative, tax, immigration
and labour law. She brings extensive experience in tax advisory, legal and tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, litigation, compliance, and multi-jurisdictional project co-ordination. Malvis holds a Master’s in International Tax Law from King’s College London, UK, and a Master’s in Commercial Law from Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua (USMA), where she also earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Accounting. Her multidisciplinary expertise and leadership contribute significantly to BDO’s legal and tax service excellence in Panama.
