8.5 Multi-Jurisdictional HR Internal Investigations
There are no specific procedures that an employer should follow in a multi-jurisdictional case; the inves - tigation team should consider the applicable laws, conflicts of law, the applicability of the contracts, the Work Rules and other internal rules. In addition, the provision and transfer of personal information outside Japan is restricted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Article 28), so the investigation team should pay attention to such regulations.
