Bernardo Cortés has more than 15 years’ experience in the Mexican infrastructure and energy sector, particularly the electricity industry. Prior to joining Cortés Quesada, he was a partner at an international firm in Mexico City and acted as international counsel at an energy company. He has experience in structuring major energy projects in Mexico and other jurisdictions, such as Cuba and Brazil. Bernardo is a member of the Mexican Bar Association and co-chair of the arbitration committee thereof. He is frequently referenced in the national media as a legal expert in matters involving all sorts of energy.
Fernando Quesada is a seasoned legal adviser, specialising in all facets of the energy sector, with particular expertise in the natural gas and power markets. He has played a key role in landmark energy projects
following the 2013 and 2024 energy reforms in Mexico. Frequently sought after by both domestic and international stakeholders, as well as media outlets, Fernando provides expert guidance on regulatory matters affecting the infrastructure sector. He has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and executing complex commercial transactions. Fernando holds a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the Mexican Bar Association.
