David Weavers is a partner and co-leads Russell McVeagh’s private credit offering. He regularly acts for global and regional private equity sponsors and private credit lenders on their New Zealand transactions. David has completed all three levels of examinations for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme. He has over 15 years’ experience leading complex event-driven financing transactions (including LBOs, acquisition finance, special situations and restructuring transactions) across the capital structure in Europe, Asia and the US, having been based for many years with leading US law firms in those markets before returning to New Zealand.

Matt Consedine is a special counsel at Russell McVeagh and has extensive experience in advising non-bank/direct lenders, banks, sponsors and corporates on a wide range of market-leading cross-border

financing transactions, including acquisition finance (across the credit spectrum and including public takeovers), corporate finance, fund finance, real estate finance, margin lending and restructurings. He has also assisted fund managers with fund formation. In addition to his experience in the New Zealand market, Matt spent four years working at Linklaters LLP in London, where he acted on some of the most complex and significant transactions in the market.
