DennisMathiew was founded in 2005 by two ship - ping lawyers in Singapore, Dennis Tan and Captain Mathiew Christophe Rajoo. Leveraging their knowl - edge and experience, primarily in shipping, oil and gas, as well as the logistics business globally, Dennis and Mathiew have been providing legal services in these areas ever since. Authors

Mathiew Christophe Rajoo is a co-founder of DennisMathiew, and specialises in shipping and admiralty law. Before being admitted as an advocate and solicitor, he served on board container ships and oil tankers

as deck officer. He is experienced in wet work and frequently investigates maritime casualties. Mathiew handles commercial transactions that have a maritime flavour, such as sale and purchase of vessels, marine assets and businesses. He advises on agreements regarding offshore construction work, including joint venture and consortium agreements. He also has experience in drafting shipbuilding contracts and settling disputes. Mathiew advises insurers and assureds regarding their rights and obligations, and continues to appear as counsel in court and before arbitral tribunals.

Tan Hui Tsing is a partner at DennisMathiew. She graduated from Bristol University in 1994 (LLB Hons) and obtained her Master’s in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton in 2004. Hui Tsing is

regularly instructed by marine underwriters and recovery agents in respect of cargo/cargo recovery claims. She is also known amongst the local offices of P&I clubs and is frequently instructed to act for their members. Hui Tsing receives direct instructions from ship-owners, advising and representing them in carriage and charterparty issues and claims.

Probin Dass has acted for some of the largest financial institutions and advised on disputes involving letters of credit and bills of exchange, claims under credit insurance policies and
