He graduated from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de México (ITAM). He completed postgraduate studies in The Hague, the Netherlands and ITAM. Additionally, he is a professor in a postgraduate programme at ITAM, and has lectured at Universidad Panamericana and Universidad Iberoamericana.

Rebeca holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) and completed a an LLM in Financial Law at Goethe Universität in Frankfurt. She serves as President of the Board of Directors for the ITAM Alumni Association in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a member of the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association.
