However, challenges will continue to arise for sports attempting to enter the Metaverse. The lack of a regulatory framework in this space will pose a significant risk to users and organisations that engage with the Metaverse. It is thought that the risk of cyberattacks, the impacts on men - tal health, the risk to child safety online and of fraudulent activity will increase if appropriate protections are not put in place.
