Arig Ali is partner and head of M&A at Zaki Hashem, Attorneys at Law. Qualified in both Egypt and the UK, she has over 23 years’ experience advising on M&A and private equity deals,
Lana Abd El-Rassoul is a senior associate at Zaki Hashem, Attorneys at Law. She is specialised in M&A and private equity. Lana holds an LL.B. in French law from Paris 1
including startup and VC transactions. Arig has authored a landmark study on Egypt’s VC/PE legal framework, which is pending parliamentary approval. She developed and teaches the legal modules of the American University in Cairo’s Private Equity Diploma, where she also introduced a chapter on venture capital. Arig holds degrees from Indiana University, Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Cairo University and BPP Law School. She is also a member of the Egyptian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EPEVCA) and AmCham’s Entrepreneurship Committee.
Panthéon-Sorbonne (2012) and an LL.B. in Egyptian law from Cairo University (2013). She was also awarded her Master’s degree in International Business Law from the University of Toulouse - 1 Capitole (2014). Lana is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
