Baker McKenzie has an environmental practice group in Mexico comprised of five practitioners: one in Mexico City, three in Guadalajara and one in Tijua- na. The practice chair is Federico Ruanova Guinea. The Mexico team works closely with other offices within the firm. Baker McKenzie’s global environmen- tal practice spans several key areas and jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, Colombia, Ar-
gentina, Brazil, the European Union, the United King- dom, Australia, Japan and China. Key areas of exper- tise include ESG compliance advice; environmental impact permitting; water and waste water regulation; air emissions and climate law; circular economy; waste management, soil and groundwater remedia- tion, land use, and administrative and/or criminal liti- gation. Isabella Guzman is an associate of the environmental practice of Baker McKenzie Mexico. Among her areas of expertise are ESG compliance, environmental impact permitting, environmental due diligence, prevention and control of air, water and oil pollution, and climate law.

Federico Ruanova Guinea is senior counsel at Baker McKenzie. He has been with the firm for 37 years and was principal partner from 2003 to 2017. Practising environmental law since 1990, his areas of expertise
include ESG advice, environmental impact permitting, water and waste water regulation, occupational health and safety, air emissions and climate law, the circular economy, waste management, soil and groundwater remediation, land use, and administrative and/or criminal litigation. Mr Ruanova is an active member of the National Association of Corporate Attorneys (ANADE). He has written many articles and papers on environmental law and sustainability and frequently participates in seminars and conferences hosted by universities and industrial chambers.
