Steven Balmer is an advocate and senior associate at Carey Olsen, specialising in commercial litigation, trust litigation and insolvency matters. He works on a range of high-value commercial cases, contentious
protection, competition law, public law and intellectual property matters. Elaine is a past President of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Chancery Bar Association. She appears regularly in courts and tribunals at all levels in Guernsey and for several years acted as Adjunct Professor of Civil Litigation to the Guernsey Bar. She is also a Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).

Steven trained with a national firm in Scotland and, prior to that, spent two years working at the Judicial Institute of Scotland.
