5.6 Electricity Distribution System Charges and Terms of Service The framework foresees that HEDNO shall receive the Greek Electricity Distribution Sys- tem’s connection charges. The connection charges are determined via a RAWEW decision based on a set of basic principles, such as the following. • The power capacity of the connection requested by the consumer and the distance between its property and the existing opera- tional facilities of the grid. • For the determination of the charges, account shall be taken of network facilities in opera- tion. Network installations that are planned to be built or are under construction, or have already been built but are not operational, or substation sites that are not yet operational, shall not be considered, even if these instal- lations are for the supply of electricity to another user who has already paid the con- nection charges.

• Consumer charges for connection to the network may differ depending on the type of network facilities installed in a certain area of the country. For this reason, the methodology includes parameters that take into account the location of the consumer’s installations. In 2021 the network usage charges manual pro- vided for in Hellenic Electricity Distribution Net- work Management Code was established. The producers’ connection charges for con- necting their installations to the network shall be determined based on the network works required for the connection.
