The project repre - sents one of the region’s largest infrastructure projects and awaits approval from the US Army Corps of Engi - neers. In Jefferson Parish, Bunge is investing USD225 million to expand its Avondale facility and create the largest palm oil processing plant in the USA. AI continues to lead the way, with more data centres popping up around the state. Amazon plans to invest USD12 billion to build multi-site data centre campuses in Caddo and Bossier parishes. Hut8 plans to build a USD10 billion AI data centre in West Feliciana Parish that will anchor large-scale AI computing infrastruc - ture and strengthen the state’s position as a national energy and technology provider. The hospitality industry in New Orleans also con - tinues to strengthen and diversify, with significant investment in mixed-use developments throughout the New Orleans central business district, warehouse district and surrounding areas. Notably, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s long-term improve - ment plan remains anchored by the River District, a mixed-use riverfront development that is now actively taking shape. The project’s first office tower is under construction, with the initial residential building set to break ground in 2026. The manufacturing industry continues to grow, with significant investment in Ascension Parish. Louisiana secured a USD5.8 billion investment from Hyundai Steel to build its first North American ultra-low carbon steel plant. The Hyundai Steel project earned Busi - ness Facilities’ 2025 Platinum Deal of the Year award for its transformative impact on US manufacturing and Louisiana’s economic competitiveness. NEMO Industries announced plans to develop a USD3 bil - lion, AI-driven pig iron facility that will produce low- carbon pig iron using advanced electric and direct reduction technologies. Linde plans to invest more than USD400 million to build the largest air separa - tion unit in the Mississippi River corridor at RiverPlex MegaPark, supplying critical industrial gases for low-
