of the Environment (“GR 22/2021”), an Environmental Approval is required for a company to obtain its busi- ness licence. This approval can take the form of: • an Environmental Feasibility Decree – for activities requiring an Environmental Impact Analysis ( Anali- sis Mengenai Dampak Lingkungan – AMDAL); or • an Environmental Management Capability State- ment – for activities requiring an Environmental Management Effort and Environmental Supervision Effort ( Upaya Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup dan Upaya Pemantauan Lingkungan Hidup – UKL-UPL) approved by either the central government or regional government. The Ministry of the Environment is the main regulatory body overseeing environmental matters.
