In addition to his practice, he is a professor at the University of Latvia and a legal science expert recognised by the Latvian Science Council. He also serves as chairman of the Bar Examination Committee of the Latvian Bar Association and the examination committee of the Latvian Council of Sworn Notaries.
His expertise also covers project finance, credit institution insolvency matters and debt recovery, as well as advising financial institutions and corporates on compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and both international and national sanctions of the Republic of Latvia. In addition to his legal practice, Pauls contributes to academia as a lecturer at the University of Latvia, where he combines practical and academic perspectives in teaching and research.
