Yee Yik Shien co-heads the banking and finance practice of Zi Li & Partners. She advises local and international financial institutions and borrowers on bilateral, syndicated and Islamic financing. Her experience

Prior to joining Zi Li & Partners in 2024, she practised at a renowned Malaysian law firm in banking and finance and debt capital markets, regularly advising arrangers, lenders, financial institutions, and borrowers on a range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions and debt capital markets transactions. She subsequently gained in-house experience at a leading international financial institution, where she specialised in derivatives and structured products.

Before joining Zi Li & Partners in 2023, Yik Shien was a partner at a Malaysian law firm that was highly ranked in banking and finance, and capital markets.

Tay Zi Li is the founding partner of Zi Li & Partners. Before establishing the firm, he was executive partner of ZICO Law Vietnam and a partner at Zaid Ibrahim & Co, Malaysia, becoming the youngest partner in the

ZICO Law network at age 28. He has more than a decade of experience and regularly advises foreign and local sponsors, lenders, and issuers on banking and project finance transactions. Fluent in Mandarin, Zi Li advises numerous international transactions involving Chinese banks and Malaysian borrowers/ security providers.
