Sameer K Tegally is a partner at Venture Law whose practice covers corporate, banking and finance (including Islamic finance), and trusts/foundations. He advises leading multinationals and international banks on their cross-border investments, financing and trading, particularly with Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Sameer also advises institutional and private clients on all aspects of non- contentious Mauritius trusts and foundations law. He has contributed several articles in renowned global publications in the fields of corporate law, Islamic finance and trusts. Sameer earned an Islamic finance qualification from the UK Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in 2009 and is admitted to the Bar in Mauritius and Bermuda.

Sonia Xavier is a partner at Venture Law who advises major institutional clients as well as global business companies, private equity firms and investment funds, amongst

others. She has a broad corporate and commercial practice that covers M&A, joint ventures, private equity, capital markets and corporate finance. Sonia’s expertise extends to assisting in the structuring, formation and management of private equity funds, and she has acted for a range of investment managers, from well-established to start-up managers. Sonia also has extensive experience with project financing, private placements and public offerings, as well as securitisation. She was admitted to the Bar in Mauritius in 1997.
