Hernández Contreras & Herrera has two main areas of expertise which are labour and employment law and immigration law. However, the firm also handles matters related to real estate law, family law (inherit - ance, divorce, etc), and incorporation of companies. There are three main partners: Carlos Hernández Contreras, specialised in labour and employment law; Matilde Guerrero, dedicated to three areas of law – immigration law, family law and real estate law;
and Hermes Guerrero, specialised in civil litigation and real estate law. In addition, there are two associ - ate attorneys: Jorge Taveras, dedicated to labour and employment law, tax law and administrative litigation law; and Venecia Veras, dedicated to labour and em - ployment law and civil law. Also, four assistant attor - neys and eight litigation attorneys complete the list of lawyers at the firm.
Author
Carlos Hernández Contreras has a master’s in Social Security Systems, from the University of Alcalá, Spain (2004), and a master’s in US laws from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law (2016), and is a
Doctor in Law which he attained from the University Paris 1 – La Sorbonne (2013). He is a full member of the Ibero-American Academy of Labor and Social Security Law (since 2018), and a former vice- president for the North America, Central America and the Caribbean region of the International Society of Labor and Social Security Law (2006– 2009).
