Luís Heleno Terrinha is a senior counsel in the dispute resolution practice at PLMJ. He focuses on providing assistance to Portuguese and international clients in arbitration, constitutional and administrative law
and international arbitration. He advises clients on highly complex court and arbitration cases involving multiple jurisdictions. Joaquim has extensive experience in commercial and corporate litigation, disputes between shareholders, construction and insurance disputes, and contract and tort cases. He has also handled criminal cases relating to economic and corporate offences. Joaquim is the president of the professional ethics committee of the Portuguese Arbitration Association and vice- president of the executive committee of the centre for mediation and arbitration, Concórdia.

Luís holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, an LLM from Yale Law School, and a PhD in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Before joining PLMJ, he worked in the international arbitration departments of Shearman & Sterling LLP (Paris) and Clifford Chance LLP (Frankfurt), where he was involved in international commercial and investment arbitrations. Ana Coimbra Trigo is a senior associate in the dispute resolution practice at PLMJ. With almost ten years of experience, she regularly acts as counsel and tribunal secretary in arbitrations and related court proceedings. Ana is a member of the ICC Court of International Arbitration, an ICFML Certified Mediator, and a deputy director of the Portuguese Journal of International Arbitration and Conciliation. She holds a PhD in law from NOVA School of Law (Lisbon), where she is a guest lecturer, and has a law degree from the University of Coimbra and a master’s degree from the China–EU School of Law, CUPL, Beijing, awarded by the University of Hamburg.
Pedro Metello de Nápoles is a partner and co-head of the dispute resolution practice at PLMJ. With over 20 years’ experience in dispute resolution, he focuses on high-value/ complex arbitration and litigation. In
recent years, he has acted as counsel or arbitrator in more than 80 arbitrations, mainly at the international level, under a wide variety of arbitration rules. He is on the lists of arbitrators of several Portuguese and international institutions and has been frequently appointed as arbitrator. Pedro is the vice-president of the Arbitration Committee of ICC Portugal, a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and a member of the board of the Portuguese Arbitration Association.
