Gábor Kutai is a senior associate in the competition and EU team at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office, providing a full range of competition law services at both the Hungarian and EU levels. He has over 10 years of experience advising clients on Hungarian and EU competition law, including cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, and comparative advertising and consumer protection matters before the Hungarian Competition Authority. He also has extensive experience in complex domestic and cross-border merger clearance procedures under the Hungarian merger control regime and the EU Merger Regulation. Over the years, he has built significant expertise in competition law litigation, state aid matters, and foreign subsidy regulation.

Ádám Simon is a counsel in the data protection and TMT teams at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office, where he also co-heads the TMT practice. He advises businesses on legal issues relating to information technology and

has developed particular experience in assisting businesses with cross-border technology matters. He also regularly works with international colleagues, drawing on their experience and skills to offer excellent service to clients. He has advised on high value IT-related transactions, SaaS deals, complex cloud infrastructure contracts, and ERP agreements. He frequently provides advice on data protection matters, including cross-border data transfer structures.

Mihály Harcos is a senior associate leading the tax law group at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office. Beyond general tax law consulting, he focuses on tax planning for transactions and intra-group restructurings across

He also regularly represents clients in disputes with tax authorities, from audits and administrative appeals to court proceedings, including appearances before the European Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Hungary.

Since then, he has actively participated in numerous corporate restructurings and cross-border M&A transactions, notably co-ordinating complex legal due diligence processes involving multi-jurisdictional teams and drafting the associated transaction documents. He also advises creditors in liquidation proceedings and is involved in various litigation matters. István is expected to be admitted to the Bar in early 2026.
