This Act is relatively new, and enforcement is in its infancy. The other data privacy and security laws that remain in force are the: • Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (Chapter 10:27); • Census and Statistics Act (Chapter 10:29); • Consumer Protection Act (Chapter 14:14); • Courts and Adjudicating Authorities (Publicity Restrictions) Act (Chapter 07:04); • Interception of Communication Act (Chapter 11:20); and • National Registration Act (Chapter 10:17). Any person or organisation is also required to be aware of the industry-specific laws that apply to par - ticular professionals (lawyers, accountants, medical practitioners, etc).
