Fernando Carreño is the head partner in the competition and antitrust practice at Von Wobeser y Sierra. With almost 20 years of experience in antitrust matters, he has been involved in the most important cartel and market investigations in Mexico. Fernando has been involved in more than 60% of the investigations carried out by the Antitrust Authority. He is also one of the most active attorneys in merger control procedures in Mexico, offering advice on both antitrust and corporate aspects of the transactions. Fernando has broad experience in the negotiation of remedies and avoidance of divestitures in complex merger review cases.

Sergio López is a partner in the competition and antitrust practice at Von Wobeser y Sierra. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for almost 20 years at COFECE, holding positions of

the highest responsibility, including director general for contentious affairs, head of the technical secretariat and head of the Investigative Authority. Sergio has actively participated in hundreds of constitutional control proceedings (amparo trials, constitutional disputes and unconstitutionality lawsuits) before the different institutions of the Federal Judiciary Branch. Furthermore, he has supervised merger notification procedures, and initiated and conducted multiple investigations on cartels, abuse of dominance, essential factors, and the existence of competition conditions in regulated markets and substantial market power.
