Additional Maritime or Shipping Issues 9.1 Other Jurisdiction-Specific Shipping and Maritime Issues The government of Japan has been actively pro - moting clean energy, which affects the maritime industry, particularly in relation to the construc - tion of offshore wind-power generation and the construction of zero emission greenhouse-gas vessels.
Many places are considered and investigated as potential sites for the construction of wind-power generating stations and, if a project or business actually commences, support from the maritime industry will be essential. For example, a spe - cial oceanographic vessel, self-elevating vessel, crew-transfer vessel, construction support and operation vessel, and/or a service operation ves - sel are all required to construct and maintain the whole offshore wind-generation station, which will, without doubt, promote and develop the marine industry much further.
