Conclusion Currently, the ETB is still in the drafting stage and there is ample time for further revisions and improvements before it is enforced in the future. The efforts to modernise and broaden the law with the numerous electronic transactions that have emerged today and to support the develop- ment of new technologies, practices and know- how relating to electronic contracts and transac- tions represent a significant legal development. This legal development will undoubtedly make the transition to a more paperless society more convenient and will affect individuals at all levels – from the general public to electronic transac- tions service providers.
However, this convenience is accompanied by an impact on legal practices and court proce- dures, presenting challenges for legal profes- sionals. Lawyers will need to strategise effec- tively, address the burden of proof, and develop a comprehensive understanding of new tech- nologies, practices and know-how relating to electronic contracts and transactions to ensure that the judicial process is efficient and operates seamlessly when the law comes into effect in the near future.
