Alternative Dispute Resolution 10.1 Dispute Resolution Mechanisms Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) options are available and include mediation, arbitration, expedited arbitration and expert determination. However, ADR is not commonly used to resolve intellectual property disputes in practice. It is nevertheless not unusual for parties to reach a settlement – often upon the advice of their legal counsel – after litigation has commenced.
