Even though there is a long path to walk, the FLPIP brings more security and certainty to the protection of trade secrets by: • introducing the concept of improper appro - priation; • limiting the management of a trade secret to the party that has legal control over it; • deeming the illegal appropriation or use of a trade secret as an administrative infraction; and • imposing more severe punishments on par - ties that infringe the law.
