Further, the new draft grants the ECA the power to impose administrative financial sanctions without having to obtain a court ruling. With respect to the Labour Law, it is worth noting that ministerial decrees further regulating certain employment-related matters are still pending issu - ance, including, inter alia, decrees relating to work and sanctions regulations and occupational health and safety. Furthermore, it is worth noting that it has been report - ed that the Egyptian government is currently in the process of preparing an all-new Arbitration Law that will be proposed to the Egyptian House of Repre - sentatives.
9. Looking Forward 9.1 Upcoming Legal Reforms
In early April 2026, the Senate approved a draft new Antitrust Law introducing amendments to the current Antitrust Law, which has been approved in principle by the House of Representatives. This new Antitrust Law is expected to be issued soon, to replace the current Antitrust Law. The key amendments to be made include, inter alia, transferring the affiliation of the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) so that it
