Tina Liu is a partner at Tompkins Wake and leads the firm’s life science, biotechnology and food and beverage practice groups. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of legal areas, including commercial
judges’ clerk in the High Court of New Zealand. Natalie was admitted in New Zealand in 2016 and in Victoria, Australia in 2021. She advises clients on a broad range of commercial and regulatory disputes, and has experience in managing large-scale litigation and investigations. She has appeared in the High Court and District Court, and as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal. education law. She joined Tompkins Wake in 2018 and became a partner in 2020. She leads the firm’s IP practice and specialises in trade mark law, with expertise in multi-jurisdictional trade mark portfolio management and cross-border IP strategies. Shelley regularly advises on trade mark strategy, IP licensing and dispute matters, including opposition and revocation proceedings, and copyright and design disputes. She has significant experience in dealing with agribusinesses, particularly those involved in primary production. Shelley Slade-Gully is a specialist in intellectual property law and
contracts, complex regulatory matters and substantial projects within these sectors. She regularly advises global and local clients on all aspects of the sale, distribution and marketing of innovative therapeutic and food and beverage products, including product categorisation, pre- market approval, advertising, pharmacovigilance, licensing, commercialisation, data protection and joint ventures. Tina has negotiated pharmaceutical supply arrangements with Pharmac, New Zealand’s government drug purchasing organisation.
Theresa Le Bas is a partner at Tompkins Wake and an expert in resource management and local government law, with nearly 30 years’ experience in New Zealand and Australia. She joined the firm in 2011
and is a senior partner in Tompkins Wake’s environmental and local government practices. Theresa has extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure, mining, energy and industrial projects, performing legal due diligence for national and international acquisitions, and has guided a number of local authorities through significant plan reviews, changes and variations. She is a member of the Tompkins Wake Board of Partners.
