innovation manager, IP consultant, and patent/ supplementary protection certificate examiner at the Portuguese Industrial Property Office. Joana is currently handling complex patent litigation matters for global pharmaceutical and telecommunications companies before Portuguese courts and the Unified Patent Court, as well as providing strategic IP advice for tech firms in the context of M&A transactions. She holds a law degree from the University of Lisbon and an integrated master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Coimbra.

A qualified lawyer with a master’s degree from Católica Lisbon School of Law, Beatriz has a robust background in handling significant and intricate patent litigation cases before Portuguese courts and the Unified Patent Court across diverse sectors, including pharmaceuticals and telecommunications. She also manages life sciences regulatory matters and co-ordinates comprehensive IP strategies and patent portfolios. Beatriz’s expertise spans various forums, including complex court and arbitration proceedings for industrial property rights infringement, damages claims, nullity actions and administrative matters.
