Gábor Kutai is a senior associate in the competition and EU team at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office, providing a full range of competition law services at both the Hungarian and EU levels. He has over 10 years of experience advising clients on Hungarian and EU competition law, including cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, and comparative advertising and consumer protection matters before the Hungarian Competition Authority. He also has extensive experience in complex domestic and cross-border merger clearance procedures under the Hungarian merger control regime and the EU Merger Regulation. Over the years, he has built significant expertise in competition law litigation, state aid matters, and foreign subsidy regulation.
Mihály Harcos is a senior associate leading the tax law group at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office. Beyond general tax law consulting, he focuses on tax planning for transactions and intra-group restructurings across
multiple countries, as well as tax litigation. He has extensive experience advising local and international companies across a wide range of industries, including energy, IT, telecommunications, and real estate. He also regularly represents clients in disputes with tax authorities, from audits and administrative appeals to court proceedings, including appearances before the European Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Hungary.
István Szalay-Csala is a junior associate in the corporate/M&A team at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Eötvös Loránd University with a specialisation in civil law in 2022.
Karim Laribi is the head of the employment team and a member of the dispute resolution team at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office. He advises on a wide range of general and M&A- related employment matters, as well
